Speaker 0 00:00:03 What's going on everybody? Welcome back to Cash It. That's right. Howard Bender. Adam Ronis, the ultimate of podcasts. All sports podcasts. We're here courtesy of fantasy alarm.com and Spotlight Sports Group. And, uh, listen, it is, this is just, just such a crazy time. Happy New Year to everybody. I know that, you know, Adam and I, we took a, a, a little hiatus, uh, from the, uh, for, for the holidays. Uh, Adam went away. I was mired in misery myself without him, but, you know, nevertheless, we are back and we're ready to go. What is up? Adam Ronis? Happy New Year. Happy holidays, dude.
Speaker 2 00:00:42 Yeah. Happy New Year to you as well. Glad to be back. Um, so yeah, it's been a, it's been a crazy week already.
Speaker 0 00:00:52 How was your time away?
Speaker 2 00:00:54 Well, I didn't go away.
Speaker 0 00:00:55 I know you, you well, time away from work, dude. You did like it. Didn't enjoy yourself at all.
Speaker 2 00:01:00 Not at all. Dude, they went so fast. It felt like I wasn't even off. I don't know if you felt the same way. It felt like I didn't even have any time off. I turned around and I'm like, oh, I gotta be back to work. I'm like, wait, was I off
Speaker 0 00:01:11 <laugh>?
Speaker 2 00:01:12 Did you feel the same?
Speaker 0 00:01:13 The exact
Speaker 2 00:01:14 It's
Speaker 0 00:01:15 Insult the exact same way.
Speaker 2 00:01:17 I'm not joking. It did not feel I was like off at all. That's how fast it went.
Speaker 0 00:01:21 I, I'm not rested one bit. And on top of it, I'm sure that you've kind of seen it a little on social media. Northern California is flooding. We're taking rain like we haven't seen in, in decades. And it's just, it's crazy. And, and my wife and I, we live, uh, right by a creek, which has flooded and overflowed and I, so I've already lost, like, you know, it was like massive property damage fences, uh, you know, torn down by like, just giant, like a river of just water, just flowing through. Like, and I mean, like, you know, and I'm like, you know, sitting there trying to like, help out, you know, with, you know, the neighborhood. So I'm like, you know, I'm like tit steep in the water, like fish and debris out, uh, and of, of the creek so that we don't have any blockages and this and that. And, and then all of a sudden, then I'm like, oh, okay. And now I gotta go watch football games and oh, I gotta go back outside now. And oh, I'm gonna go watch a football. Like I did not feel rested at, at all. I'm with you a hundred percent. We need vacations from our vacations.
Speaker 2 00:02:25 Yes, I agree.
Speaker 0 00:02:27 Should we just take it off? Should we, should we just skip this?
Speaker 2 00:02:31 Yeah. You know what? It's a good idea. You know what? Let's take it. Come
Speaker 0 00:02:33 On, we're here. Don't,
Speaker 2 00:02:35 I mean, they, we, we gave a good five minutes. A lot of men can't do that. <laugh>, <laugh>.
Speaker 0 00:02:43 That is a hundred percent true. I'm not gonna lie, but you know what? Listen, sometimes it's like I say to my wife sometimes, these are just for me.
Speaker 2 00:02:49 Yeah, that's true. Yeah.
Speaker 0 00:02:51 If I, if I, if I brought the A game every time, well then, you know, you wouldn't appreciate the a game as much.
Speaker 2 00:02:58 Yeah. I'm not married and I'm not in a relationship, so I have to bring the A game to get the next opportunity and get them hooked.
Speaker 0 00:03:04 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Because you, we all know that a bad reputation spreads a lot quicker than a good
Speaker 2 00:03:09 Reputation. That is true. Yeah.
Speaker 0 00:03:11 <laugh> <laugh>. Well, I gotta tell you, man. So how's this for the tail end of, of 2022? It's just like, you know, your vacation sucks. My vacation sucks. Everything. Like, you know, going into the New Year's, I had to cancel my trip to, to New York and was just here for, you know, again, I'm thankful that I was here for the natural disaster that Inc, you know, occurred. Um, and feel good about that. But nevertheless, uh, as 2023 starts up, um, we're back in the shit again here, Adam. And, and it's not even our fault. But you know, again, I will always say this, it's always about people first. And it is about health first. And now, right now here as we record on Thursday, January the fifth, and we have the latest updates that DeMar Hamilton has shown, uh, considerable improvement, that he is, uh, conscious and alert and is communicating, uh, via the written word right now. And we are, you know, we are definitely in a much better spot with DeMar ha Hamlin now than we, you know, obviously was before. Um, but everything, so, so we can kind of look at that and say thankful, you know, and be thankful for that. But we can also start talking real here about the impact in the fantasy football world with the, not even, they haven't even canceled this Bill's Bengals game. I expect them to, but nevertheless, dude, it has turned the fantasy community completely upside down.
Speaker 2 00:04:54 Yeah, it looks like it's going to be canceled. That was a report today that's not official from the nfl, but it looks like they are not going to continue it. So Yeah, I mean, look, I am fortunate that in my situation as commissioner, it's not that bad. I know others are gonna be in a real difficult spot and there's no one solution. You know, I call on people to be reasonable here. I know there's money involved, but you have to understand the circumstance. We been through this a little bit with Covid 19, and you know, I'm all for one like rules or rules. But with Covid, I, you know, did, and you were in the league too, you know, I like, Hey, put on the message board if this guy plays, he's in my lineup. If the game gets canceled, I'm going with this guy that was not in the rules before he gave him.
Speaker 2 00:05:36 But you have to be reasonable. This is something that no one could have prepared for as far as rules. I know maybe in the high stakes leagues, they probably have some, uh, language written in there. But the bottom line is, I mean, I'll just go based on what my situation so far. So the Flex League, which is not for money, you get like a belt. Um, I was down 8.2 going into Monday night. Bills Bengals with Jamar Chase, half point P P r, I'm pretty sure I was gonna win, but we saw Justin Jefferson have a shit game, right? So it could happen to anyone. Um, so on the message board, they were like, uh, your boy Jake Si is the commissioner. He is like, Hey, I'm gonna leave it up to Joe and Adam, first of all, commissioner shouldn't do that. You don't leave it up to people.
Speaker 2 00:06:21 But anyway, so Joe's like, Hey, uh, I'm, Adam was probably gonna win based on projected points, but you never know cuz he had Justin Jefferson, he brought that up. But I'm good with Coach Champs. I said, we should probably wait to see what happens, but I don't want to create, I don't wanna make it more complicated. So I'm good with Coach Champs. They said, we're coach Champs. Cool. I think all the other Flex leagues were already decided. No big deal. My home league, two of my best friends, one is up 21 points. He has t Higgins, the other guy has Dawson Knox, anything could happen. I'm pretty sure that the team with Higgins was gonna win. So, um, I'm going to, once it's officially canceled, say, all right, he's the champ, the GST leagues, which you're in, uh, Tim Heney already lost to, I think it's Joe I believe from Brooklyn.
Speaker 2 00:07:11 So that one I don't need to worry about. The other league that I'm in, Billy Hayes is trailing Tony by 60.7. He has Josh Allen in Diggs. Tony has Burrow pretty sure that Billy's not gonna win that, right? I mean, even if you give digs 30 and Josh Allen 30 we're already threw a touchdown. Anyway. So, and the overall champion, it looks like Davee Martinez had a big week. He, so I'm just going to basically say, hey, game those account. And once it's official and Crown the champions as is. But I know there are leagues where people have Alan and Diggs going and it's a four point game and they, so those are the difficult ones. I guess my recommendation
Speaker 0 00:07:53 Is, I mean, they're, they're difficult. They're difficult in the sense that, and, and I, I literally just had this argument with one of my best friends and I, and I, and I said to him, I was like, listen, I get what everybody's saying, you know? Oh, I had, I was down by five and I had Josh Allen still going. Okay. Yeah, he
Speaker 2 00:08:14 Could, he actually got hurt in the game if you were,
Speaker 0 00:08:16 Well, yeah. So, so what I said was, I was like, yes, you know what, yes. If you were to say that, you know, Josh Allen plays the rest of this game and is fine, uh, and he'll easily surpass five points. Josh Allen's, you know, average points per game in this league fantasy wise was like 26 or whatever, whatever the case may be. I get that. But you cannot tell me that there is not a chance that Josh Allen gets sacked and concussed and knocked out of the game. Not, not that, you know, maybe he gets jelly lagged and then somebody from New York says, put Alan in the blue tent and they say in the blue tent that he's still not ready to go out there. Like those things can and have happened.
Speaker 2 00:09:00 I mean, look at the performances of, of Hopkins and Justin Jefferson in the last two weeks.
Speaker 0 00:09:04 Right? But I'm just saying, you can't say to me, right, well, I had these guys still to go and we were, and we were winning. We were, we were, we were getting ready to win. We were gonna overtake. Yes, you were. And if all
Speaker 2 00:09:16 Things were, wait, did you decide to, did you decide to split the pot? Was that the decision made?
Speaker 0 00:09:23 Oh, not, there was no, there was nothing in this, uh, in this league for money. It, this, this, that's the, that was
Speaker 2 00:09:28 The, oh my God, really? And they're getting, it's so, it's just bragging rights.
Speaker 0 00:09:33 Yeah.
Speaker 2 00:09:34 Oh, come on man. Please see if that's a pro. I have a problem with that. Like, don't get worked up. Like I said, the Flex League, I didn't make a big deal about it. I mean, yeah, I wanted win. Um, cause I played Joe Pi who beat me a few years ago, and of course Joe, I played Joe for this because on Sunday night, no, Sunday night before the games were even over, I think even before the Raiders game went overtime, cuz he had Jacob's picked up a few more points. He goes, vengeance is yours. Congratulations Adam. So it's all his fault, cuz he did that intentionally and then some unforeseen circumstance occurred. So I blame Joe for that. Um, so yeah, I wanna win. You know, me, I hate to lose, but at the same time, you gotta be reasonable here. And it's like, all right, do I think I would've won? I'm pretty sure Chase would've had more than 8.2 that was shaping up to be a high scoring game. But you know what, even if money was on, if they said if money was on line and they said, Hey, split the pot, I think you have to live with it. You can't get worked up here, man. There's, there's the high stakes leagues. It's even worse, man. I mean,
Speaker 0 00:10:32 Oh, I know, I know that. My feeling is, my feeling is just chop the pot. Yes. Stop with the nonsense of what could've, should've, would've, whatever. Just chop the pot. It's an unfortunate situation and let's move on with it. This is not a time to sit here and, and quibble over, you know, you know, whatever. Any, any, any amount of money. I don't care if it's $200 or if it's $2,000, right? I mean, just chop the pot. Make it like, like keep it simple because, you know, unless, unless you, you have a commissioner who, you know, dolled up a beautiful constitution during covid time and said, this is what happens if games are canceled or whatever, then you just say, you have to go with what's what's going on right now. You can't, that it's, it's, it's very, very, it's very frustrating. You see what they're doing in the F S G A.
Speaker 2 00:11:21 Yeah, man, I disagree with it.
Speaker 0 00:11:24 I a hundred percent disagree with it, man. I'm like, you're changing magic for those of you who don't know. So the F S G A said that if they play the game, then the stats will count. If they don't play the game, then any players that you had from the bills of the, the Bengals in your starting lineup, you'll get their points from week 18 games. So now it's Bills hosting the Patriots, um, and it's, uh, and it's the Bengals hosting the Ravens. And, and those are the points that now you're get, to me, that's fucked up in the sense that you're changing the matchups, you're changing strategies, everything like that,
Speaker 2 00:12:03 Right? I mean, if in that situation, if you knew Devon Single Terry was facing New England, you might be like, ah, you know what? I'd rather have Zack mos against the Texans. And you don't have that chance to make that change. So yeah, I mean, someone suggested like, projected points. Nope, you can't do that. So <laugh> Yeah, I, i look it's a, I think, I think each individual commission has to come up with something that's fair. If the, again, if the games are really close, split the pot. Like in the situations I gave, I don't think those games are that close. I mean, I know someone could say, oh, you're being subjective, it's a close call. But Dawson Knox had 21 points one time this year. So say he gets 21 t Higgins is not gonna get one or two catches. I mean, I think you have to be reasonable at some sense. And even with, with the, uh, Josh Allen Diggs, you're down 60.7 with those two, and the other guy has Burrow. Come on.
Speaker 0 00:12:55 Well, here you go. Let me ask you this, Adam, in, in, in our league in the F S G A, I'm up 49 in change. He's got Josh Allen and t Higgins.
Speaker 2 00:13:05 He, uh, we, well, we, it's Matt Deutch of a Better Sports Network. We had him on the show, and I did, I do think he had a reasonable shot to win.
Speaker 0 00:13:15 I definitely think that he had a reasonable shot to win. I'm not disputing that he didn't have a reasonable shot to win. What I'm I'm saying is though, is that now we're, we're looking at, we're looking at different matchups
Speaker 2 00:13:26 And it's probably more favorable for you. I would say these matchups, don't you think so?
Speaker 0 00:13:34 I would definitely say that. I think that these are more favorable for me. Yeah. It's, it's, but see, all right, see, and here's the thing. Here's the thing. And, and that, that's, so I, I had a, I had a, I had a quote yesterday, um, that I gave to everybody, a little food for thought at the end of the fantasy alarm show. Um, the exact, the exact quote, I can't remember. It was, um, it was from Richard Bach, who's, you know, one of my absolute favorite authors, uh, saying that, you know, your conscience is the measurement of how honest you are about your selfishness, right? And that's, and it is, it's a bit of a thinker for some, but it is, it is a hundred percent true. You know, if we're all, everybody's selfish, everybody is, you are, I am. Everybody in this world is selfish. The, the <laugh>, all right, fine. Maybe there's some, you know, some somebody out there who's just the, the most altruistic person in the world, uh, you know, whatever, like Jesus is walking the world somewhere doing all sorts of great things for people. And, and, and that happens. But the bottom line is, is that everybody in this world is selfish and, and nobody is sitting there li you know, talking about how to solve these problems from a completely objective point of view.
Speaker 2 00:14:59 Well, I am, I'm not involved in any of these championships.
Speaker 0 00:15:02 Well see, I am also because, and, and I am involved in one of these championships. I don't think that this is, I mean, listen, well, I
Speaker 2 00:15:09 Agree. Well, I agree with you. I don't like the way they're handling it. I, so, and I'm being objective too. I'm not in it. I don't think that was the correct solution. Um, what, what did you want them to do for the F S J in, in this situation? What would you have liked them to do?
Speaker 0 00:15:27 I just, I would've done for them, with them exactly what the F Ffpc is doing, what R RT sports is doing, any of the high stakes leagues. What they are doing is if the game gets played, then fine, if not, it ends
Speaker 2 00:15:41 Right. And that's it, essentially. And that's what I'm doing, basically, right?
Speaker 0 00:15:44 So, so, so there you go. Like, I get it, man. And I said it for the leagues that I, I I commission. I say, if they play the game, then, then those points will happen. But to, to sit there and say, you know, if they, if they do this or they do that, because here's the thing also, if they play the game, if they turn around, they're like, you know what? We're gonna create a week 19. Right?
Speaker 2 00:16:05 Team's
Speaker 0 00:16:06 Gonna go,
Speaker 2 00:16:06 I thought they might, I thought they might do that because I'm fascinated to see what they're gonna do because this changes the complexion of the playoffs.
Speaker 0 00:16:14 But so, so the game being played could not only does this whole thing change the complexion of the playoffs in the afc, okay, but if you play this game after week 18, there's no guarantee that you're gonna get any of the starters there because shit could already be determined. You know, like all of a sudden, nah.
Speaker 2 00:16:37 And then it's very unlikely that game is if
Speaker 0 00:16:39 The chiefs win,
Speaker 2 00:16:40 Right?
Speaker 0 00:16:42 Okay. If they win this next game and let's say Buffalo and Cincinnati, let's say they lose,
Speaker 2 00:16:49 Well then yeah, in that situation, but then in that case, you wouldn't even play the game.
Speaker 0 00:16:54 Well, you say that they wouldn't, but they, they have to make this decision before,
Speaker 2 00:16:58 But it's pretty the
Speaker 0 00:16:59 First kickoff on
Speaker 2 00:17:00 Saturday, right? But it's, again, it's almost over certain. They're not playing the game and then you're hearing, well, they might go with, uh, I mean the whole, the adding the eighth playoff team is ridiculous. That shit,
Speaker 0 00:17:11 That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
Speaker 2 00:17:12 Never. It can never ha that cannot happen.
Speaker 0 00:17:14 It's no sense.
Speaker 2 00:17:15 Yeah, it makes no sense at all. Because the titans rested guys last week, if they had known this situation, they wouldn't have. So, right. That's out the window. I think it's ludicrous. I don't know who threw that out there. Then there's like, oh, well they could play the AFC at a neutral site, or they give Kansas City a choice of a buyer. A like, what are we doing? You can't make
Speaker 0 00:17:32 These
Speaker 2 00:17:32 Changes, bro. <laugh>, what the fuck? So, yeah, I mean, that's why I thought I was like, all right, you know what, maybe they'll play it in week 19, um, give everyone else off or have the n ffc wildcard week 19 with that Bengals bills game. Give n ffc off the next week. Let the, a FFC play. So I was like, okay, I could see those alternatives. You don't need the week off between the Super Bowl and the conference championships. But I know there's travel involved that Citi makes a lot of money. So there's a lot of logistics that go into it, but I don't see how like, the bills are getting screwed here because if they don't play the game and go, we're going on winning percentage, the chiefs get the number one seed because they played one more game and won when the Bills beat the chiefs. And the Bengals also had a shot to get the one seed as well. Obviously they need, well, once Kansas City wins this week, they can't. Um, but Kansas City could lose, but yeah. So I'm very intrigued to see what the N NFL does here, cuz it sounds like they are not playing the game. So how are they gonna handle this? Because having that one seed and whole field advantage is a huge, huge deal.
Speaker 0 00:18:37 The nfl, you know, how they're gonna handle it, whatever makes them the most money, that's how theyre gonna
Speaker 2 00:18:42 Handle it. Okay? But so the team, if you do a neutral site, then the te the teams lose money.
Speaker 0 00:18:50 Uh, the <laugh>, the teams don't lose the mo the N NFL still makes the money,
Speaker 2 00:18:54 But then
Speaker 0 00:18:55 Like, they got the, they got their revenue, I'm sure, but they're talking about Indian Annapolis played a neutral site. Adam, they're
Speaker 2 00:19:00 Talking Indianapolis is one of the neutral sites. So
Speaker 0 00:19:02 I'm, I'm sure, I'm sure if they played at a neutral site that the N F NFL is going to kick some revenue from that game back to the
Speaker 2 00:19:12 Original. But not enough.
Speaker 0 00:19:13 Not enough. But still, that's what's gonna be,
Speaker 2 00:19:18 I
Speaker 0 00:19:18 I'm just, I'm still, I gotta be honest with you, I'm still like, I'm still hot about the N F L using, you know, using Detroit Green Bay in the
Speaker 2 00:19:26 Night game. I, dude, I, I said it too on my show. Fucking ridiculous. It's all about fucking Aaron Rods in Green Bay. I hope Green Bay fucking loses nothing would be better because these networks and everyone's ready for the Car Nation of Rogers. Oh, look at Green Bay, they were dead and buried. And now it makes, it makes no sense for a multitude of reasons. Number one, Seattle and Detroit have got to play at the same time, if you compare about competitive balance, you did it in all the other games. Now you don't. Cuz if Seattle wins at four, Detroit has nothing to play for. Now, I do think Detroit will go out there and play hard on their Campbell, they wanna finish with a nine and eight record a winning season. I, but it's human emotion, man. I don't care who you are. You are pumped up to play a game and you look at a scoreboard and you see Seattle wins and you're like, you playoff hopes are done.
Speaker 2 00:20:10 I don't care who you are. Yep. That's deflating. So it's gonna have an effect. Jacksonville, Tennessee should be the Sunday night game. Automatically, both teams have something to play for. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>, you cannot say that about the other games. And Tennessee played Thursday, I got into an argument with someone on Twitter about this. Tennessee played Dallas Thursday night in week 17. Tennessee gets eight days rest for this game. Jacksonville gets five. The guy's like, well that's Jacksonville's fault for not resting their starters. Tennessee made this more move. So now we're rewarding people for resting starters. Like, come on man. And Jack Jacksonville and Tennessee deserve the spotlight. And it's not even that, that's not a good enough argument. The point is, both teams have something to play for. The winner is in the losers out. I know there's an outside shot. Jacksonville can get in as wildcard. We all know that's probably not gonna happen. That should have been a Sunday night game. But they clearly want Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay primetime. You cannot say anything otherwise. Well,
Speaker 0 00:21:08 But you could have No, no, no. It's not just that they want them in primetime. It's
Speaker 2 00:21:12 Put them Saturday night,
Speaker 0 00:21:13 They want them in the playoffs.
Speaker 2 00:21:15 Oh
Speaker 0 00:21:16 Yeah. If you, if you just want 'em in primetime, then you put Detroit Green Bay on Saturday night mm-hmm. <affirmative>. And then, and then those two teams are lo and, and, and their entire fan bases are locked into the Seattle game. Because if Seattle wins, they're in, if they're not, then whoever won that fucking game, well, no, actually, uh, lions are just dead anyway with the, oh no, if Seattle loses,
Speaker 2 00:21:43 If Seattle loses and Detroit wins there in
Speaker 0 00:21:45 And Detroit won that game. So there you go. So that, that's what it is right there. So, so Seattle ends up playing the We win, we're in, and that bumps out Detroit. Sorry guys. If we lose, then, you know, or Yeah, you're, you're all in on your, on your packers or whatever. Either way, that's,
Speaker 2 00:22:03 They want, they want, they want to coordinate the Packers on Sunday night and Lord Aaron Rodgers, which is, I am hoping Detroit beats them. It would be so, so gross. So good. And now Rogers talking shit to the last few weeks. Like, come on man, you got fortunate that the N F C picture is the N F C's not that good and everything broke your way. Like get outta here, man. So, uh, yeah, I am, I am rooting for Green Bay to lose and nothing would be better than for Detroit. Um, and Detroit's played better than them this year.
Speaker 0 00:22:30 Oh my God. Much better. Much
Speaker 2 00:22:33 Better. Yeah. But I was so disgusted when I saw that. I'm like, come on man, it should be Jacksonville, Tennessee. Like, that's the NFL's mani manipulating things because I mean, last year they did it with Raiders chargers. Right. And what did they do? They put it in prime time. That's the same scenario with Jacksonville, Tennessee. I get it. It's not like Tennessee's look bad, but it's still gonna be, uh, a big game obviously. And um, I want to see, uh, Trevor Lawrence in the spotlight. I mean, come on man, forget about Aaron Rodgers put, hey, put that game Saturday. That's what they should have did. They should put Seattle. I mean, um, green bait Detroit Saturday. Detroit knows that they still have to play for something cuz they don't know the Seattle result. Like you said, do that such, it's ridiculous, man. But I'm not surprised. It's the N F nfl.
Speaker 0 00:23:22 It's the nfl and it's as, as depressing as it is. That's they are. So, yeah, like everybody's like, you know, well what, what whatever makes the N NFL the most money. That's really that, that's, that's the only thing that you can rely on when it comes to the nfl.
Speaker 2 00:23:40 I don't Do you think though that the ratings would be that much different for Green Bay Detroit versus Jacksonville, Tennessee?
Speaker 0 00:23:49 I, it's, I think, yeah, I
Speaker 2 00:23:51 Mean it's
Speaker 0 00:23:51 A,
Speaker 2 00:23:52 It's a
Speaker 0 00:23:52 Win game. Yes. I think, I think yes. I think because it's Aaron Rogers, you get more mainstream. You, you put Jacksonville and Tennessee into the, into the, uh, into that, you know, Sunday night thing and, and you lose ratings. I,
Speaker 2 00:24:07 But I thought I saw that last year's Raiders Chargers was one of the most highly rated games. That's Sunday night
Speaker 0 00:24:13 Because, because Raiders have a fan base that's like all over the place besides Las Vegas. It's, you got the, but
Speaker 2 00:24:19 The Char Chargers
Speaker 0 00:24:20 Don't got the whole Bay Area
Speaker 2 00:24:21 Chargers. Don't.
Speaker 0 00:24:23 No, the Chargers don't. But they have a, they had a, a much more exciting team to
Speaker 2 00:24:27 Watch. But I think that was more the what's at stake. I really do. That's the last week of the season. You know, like the, I mean, that's what you want win. You're in lose you go home. I mean, everything is on the line.
Speaker 0 00:24:42 I I'm, dude, listen, I, I agree. You know me, I'm, I'm, I just, I'm so, it's just so aggravating. I threw a penalty flag on the show about it. Just, it's just, it's, it's just crazy. You know, what I think is even crazier is how many people are blind to, to what's going on. Like, I get it, I work in the industry and I'm supposed to do that, but like, like, like for the, the general public to not see how the N F NFL is manipulating certain things. I'm not saying everything's all scripted, like the w e cuz there are those people who are saying that like, you couldn't, you couldn't make a better case for the, that the N F L is rigged than what they just did here at this point in time. And
Speaker 2 00:25:28 Then they, and then they, they, uh, so they the announced Jacksonville, Tennessee Saturday night and they're like, oh, we'll wait on the Sunday night game. Stop bullshitting us. We all knew it was gonna be Green Bay, Detroit, where else were you going? Fucking delaying it. Like, oh yeah, we got a seat. No, you already knew what the decision was.
Speaker 0 00:25:47 I don't
Speaker 2 00:25:49 Get it. Like, where else were you going? You weren't going Baltimore, Cincinnati, that game. Fucking B teams are in the playoffs. Who cares about the division? So there was nothing else you were gonna do. So just say it right away. We all knew once they said Tennessee Jacksonville Saturday, we're like, oh, greet made Detroit Sunday night. Lock it in
Speaker 0 00:26:06 <laugh>, lock it in. Oh man, it is, uh, it's, it's, it's aggravating. It really is. Um, but, you know, listen, we're gonna all have to move on from everything, so we might as well just move on from this cuz nothing, nothing's gonna change anybody's mind. And you and I bitching and moaning about it certainly isn't gonna, isn't gonna fix things. So, um, you wanna just stick with some N F L? Let's pick these, uh, these week 18 debacles of, of, of a game.
Speaker 2 00:26:39 Yeah, let's do it
Speaker 0 00:26:41 <laugh>. Let's do it. As we say, with such disdain. And I'm, and I'm with you, man. I'm, I'm, it's been a long grueling season, hasn't it?
Speaker 2 00:26:52 It definitely has
Speaker 0 00:26:54 <laugh>. And you were looking forward to the time off so that you could power through the playoffs. And now, now you don't have that
Speaker 2 00:27:03 Shirt on.
Speaker 0 00:27:04 Do you need a hug?
Speaker 2 00:27:05 Nah, I'm good.
Speaker 0 00:27:06 You sure?
Speaker 2 00:27:07 All right, fine. Uh oh. That feels good.
Speaker 0 00:27:11 Mm, the big bear. Get his paws on <laugh>. Start off with Saturday, well, late afternoon, early evening. Yeah, whatever you want to call it. Kansas City Chiefs nine point favorites over the Las Vegas Raiders. The Chiefs win. They probably lock up Home Field Advantage and the number one seed for the playoffs, the Raiders, um, you know, playing for, for Pride, I guess. Uh, Jared stk, uh, gonna be under center again for the, uh, for the Raiders. Who do you like in this one?
Speaker 2 00:27:47 Uh, I like the Raiders to cover. Uh, STM was impressive against the Staunch 49ers defense last week, and we've talked about it a lot. My homes and this chiefs, they don't cover these big spreads, so, um, I'm gonna, I think the Raiders keep this competitive. It's a divisional game. Uh, so yeah, I'm taking the Raiders here, getting the nine and a half.
Speaker 0 00:28:08 Yeah, there's just something go, I I, I don't know what it is that's going on with Patrick Mahomes. He does not, he just hasn't seemed right the last few weeks. You know, I mean, maybe it's defenses taking Travis Kelsey out of the mix a little bit extra, a little bit more there, but he just doesn't seem to have that same, he's not throwing the ball deep. Um, he's just kind of doing what it takes to kind of get by sort of a thing. I mean, I, I do think that this could be a, a little bit of a trap in the sense that everybody's like, well, come on, it's the Raiders. They're at home, and Jared Sitm did look great and nine Points is a lot and whatever, and maybe the chiefs blow 'em out. But you throw a game total of 52 at me here, I'm definitely gonna take the Raiders with, with the points. I, the, the, the, the high total there is not like a, a giant blowout that's like a, like a battle. That's like a touchdown difference at the most.
Speaker 2 00:29:06 Yeah, no, I agree. I think they'll, they'll be competitive here. They're, I mean, they showed last week. I mean, I was surprised. I mean, they gave the 49ers everything they could handle. I mean, they almost won the game. I had to go to overtime. So STM came out, threw the bolt. Well,
Speaker 0 00:29:21 Um, the night Game, Titans Jags, this is the game that you and I won and see on Sunday night, it's, uh, for all the marbles winning you're in. Um, man, I mean it's, I I, you know, I think the Jags win this game by six and a half. I think they can do it. I'll probably just like, for me, my lean is to take the Jags and lay the points, um, because I think that the Jags, all they really need to do is just stop Derek Henry. And it's not an easy feat, but, you know, even if you limit Henry to a hundred yards in a touchdown, you can still, you know, really limit, you know, Josh Dobbs and, and you know, the, the, the passing unit there. So I'm, I'm, I'm on the Jags side here.
Speaker 2 00:30:09 Yeah, I'm gonna take the Titans with the points. I love the Jags. I thought they had a shot to win this division before the year. Um, so I'm, I'm happy to see them finish the season strong. We know Tennessee's limping in, um, but they did rest guys last week. And it is just a lot of points. Um, you know, I'm putting faith in Mike, frail here to keep this close. I thought Dobbs threw the ball very well. Um, and Tennessee has more experience in this spot as well. Rabel as an underdog has been great. Um, I think there's pressure on Jacksonville to win this game. How do they handle it? I like, I think they went, but you know, this total's low too. What is it? Like 40? 40, 40. So, yeah, I, yeah, I don't think this is, would I be surprised if Jacksonville bull them out? No, but I don't think it's gonna happen. And I'm rooting for Jacksonville. I don't want to see Tennessee in the playoffs. They're just boring. Let's get Jacksonville in there. They're, they're a fun team. Um, they were great against the run, but they've had some injuries, but I think some of those guys will be back. Um, and we saw Jackson will beat them in Tennessee, 36, 22 in week 13. But I just feel like Tennessee's gonna do enough to keep it close. So I'm gonna take the points.
Speaker 0 00:31:15 All right. That's fine. That's fine. You all go against me like that. You can go against
Speaker 2 00:31:19 Them. I'm rooting for Jacksonville. I wanna see them get in. I,
Speaker 0 00:31:22 Yeah, I, I think everybody's rooting for Jacksonville. Yeah, I, I really do. And you know what? And, and I'm with you. I love Rebel. I absolutely love Rebel, but yeah, everybody wants the Jags to do it. Um, let's go to Sunday's action. By the way, I, you know, and I said this the other day on the show, I don't, I'm not usually one of those guys who's like I told you, I told you, I said in the preseason to look out for the Jaguars I invested in, in a number of them for fantasy. I said, what's happening with them actually getting a legitimate N F L head coach with a system? And I was in on that. So I'm just gonna say that I was right, Adam. Okay. Is that all right? Is that cool?
Speaker 2 00:32:01 All right. I mean, I was on a show saying, um, put some money on Jacksonville Win division.
Speaker 0 00:32:06 So look at you
Speaker 2 00:32:07 Motherfucker. I love that. And I took, took etn in a lot of leagues. I thought Kirk was undervalued. I took Lawrence as a backup. Quarterbacks. Yeah, I like Jacksonville.
Speaker 0 00:32:14 Oh yeah. Took
Speaker 2 00:32:17 A while, 'em, to get going, but they, they did it. Let's, uh, see if they can finish it off now.
Speaker 0 00:32:21 I hope they do. Sunday action. We'll start off Minnesota against the Bears Vikings on the road. They are seven and a half point favorite. Um, the Vikings, I don't think they can improve their seating. Um, nor do I think they can like, you know, know lose any, I mean, no, actually they can, they can improve their seating. They can move up to the number two spot. Yes. In the N
Speaker 2 00:32:45 FFC 49ers loss, which they won't know because the 49ers play after them.
Speaker 0 00:32:50 Right, exactly. So Minnesota, but they need the win to improve their seating. If they lose, it doesn't do anything to them. Um, so I think that they, they at least try to win this game here. Um, which side do you lean?
Speaker 2 00:33:05 Well, so I saw the news that Fields was out and Peter was starting. So I immediately went to Draft King Sportsbook, and at the time it was minus five and a half, and I put money on Minnesota, so I was able to get it in before they moved it, which is rare. They usually lock it pretty quick. Um, and then obviously the line moved to like eight. So I'm on Minnesota. I think mentally they need to finish this season strong. They've had some bad, bad losses recently. And this is more a bet against the Bears. They're just atrocious. They were haven't been good Woodfield. Now you put Peterman in there. I mean, um, so he's, he has three losses where he's been the quarterback and he is lost by 30, 32 and 44. So, uh, their defense is terrible. Also, the Bears could still get the one, pick the number one if they win. And I mean, if they lose and the Texans win, they get the one pick. So, um, uh, gimme the Vikings here.
Speaker 0 00:34:01 Vikings. And the Points is exactly where I'm going as well. Uh, you know, I you, you, you took the scenic route, but we got to the same place. <laugh> <laugh>, you had me at Nathan Peterman.
Speaker 2 00:34:13 <laugh>, yeah, exactly.
Speaker 0 00:34:17 Uh, Ravens, uh, seven Point Road Dog to the Cincinnati Bengals. Um, uh, you know, I mean, I I I, to be perfectly honest, I don't, I'm not betting any Bengals games or Bills games for the next couple of weeks. Like, I just, I I won't do it. I, I'm very curious to see how everybody responds to it. The, the good part is that, that DeMar Hamlin is improving. And that's probably, that's why I'm gonna take the Bengals and I'm gonna lay the seven here. But, uh, you know, I I, I feel like, you know, they, they, they want that win. They want, they, their momentum here at the tail end of the season has been unbelievable. Like, they look like a, a totally different team over like the last five or six weeks. And so I'm, I'm in on the Bengals here to, uh, to, to make their claim and try and go for that, uh, top spot.
Speaker 2 00:35:09 Yeah, me too. Um, the Ravens are just, I think they're averaging like slightly over 11 points per game over the last four. And it's starting to sound like Lamar Jackson's not playing. Um, he didn't practice again on Thursday. So, uh, Bengals are on a roll. I know it's a divisional game and I hate that. I just think they're way better than the Ra Ravens are just so bad. I mean, this, this is a bad playoff team man, which is why there's incentive to, uh, well, no. Okay. I was gonna say the Ravens, uh, will not be, yeah, Bengal's will win the division, I guess with a win, so it won't matter. But yeah, you, the Ravens are a team you wanna face in the playoffs in afc.
Speaker 0 00:35:48 Oh yeah, definitely.
Speaker 2 00:35:50 Definitely. Even if Lamar comes back, like, people forget this offense was sucked with Lamar too. Lamar,
Speaker 0 00:35:55 He was, he was struggling big time also. He
Speaker 2 00:35:58 Had three good games to start the year. And we were up, Lamar Jackson was the pick what A pick. MVP and fantasy. And it fell apart. So that's why it boggled my mind when people were like, oh, Tyler Huntley gotta get him. I'm like, wait a second. You guys realized Lamar Jackson was doing shit with his team? I know Huntley came in last year and was fine, but like, come on, man. And it, it's been brutal to watch.
Speaker 0 00:36:20 Yeah. Oh, J come on, <laugh>. Do you know what it's like for me as a Jets fan? Like Knowledgeable Jets fan to hear everybody talking about how great Mike White is?
Speaker 2 00:36:31 Yeah, I know
Speaker 0 00:36:33 <laugh>,
Speaker 2 00:36:35 The backup quarterback's always the hero until they get exposed.
Speaker 0 00:36:40 <laugh>, he got exposed last year and people were still buying into it. I was like, can't somebody please just go and take a look at his game log? Yes, he could throw for 400 yards, but he is also gonna throw three picks with that. Oh my goodness. Patriots Bills. Here you go again. Bills home favorites. Seven points. Um, oh, you go first on
Speaker 2 00:37:07 This one. Yeah, I'm not sure. I don't have a strong feeling in this game. Like, it's tough to, to know where the bills are at. Um, I, hmm. I mean, obviously the bills are a way better team, but where are they at? Emotionally, mentally? Mm-hmm. <affirmative>, Patriots, uh, one of these teams face each other and the bills won by 14 New England. I'll take the bills. You know what? I think maybe they stomp 'em. Let me gimme the bills. Let's go. Bills. I think a lot of people are gonna be rooting for the bills too.
Speaker 0 00:37:38 Oh yeah. I think everybody's gonna be rooting for the pills. Well, I mean, listen. No, everybody also wants to see Patriots have an out outside shot at that number seven seat.
Speaker 2 00:37:45 Yeah. I, I don't wanna see them get in. There
Speaker 0 00:37:47 Are no, and nobody wants to see them get
Speaker 2 00:37:49 It. Yeah, I don't. They're a boring team.
Speaker 0 00:37:51 <laugh>. Yes, they are. Stupid. Bill check. Um, I'm with you on this one. There again, I, I won't bet the bills, but you know, here it goes. Uh, Steelers hosting the Browns Steelers have an outside shot at that, uh, number seven seed in the AFC as well. Um, two and a half point favorite here over the Browns. You know, I'm gonna say I'm, I'm gonna take the Steelers. I think the Browns run Defense is terrible. Naji looks really good in comparison to what he star started off the season like. Uh, so it goes to show you what a, what a healthy foot will do. Mike Tomlin's never had a losing record his entire career, so I'm betting on Mike Tomlin here as well. Uh, and I, you know, I feel like you can go with the field goal game here. I know Deshawn's gotten better and, you know, I love Nick Chub more than anything in the world. I just see the Browns shoot themselves in the foot so many times. And, uh, and I'm gonna take the Steelers and lay the two and a half.
Speaker 2 00:38:52 Um, I'm gonna take Cleveland. Um, I've been, I've been writing Pittsburgh a lot late in the year. Uh, but
Speaker 0 00:39:00 Maybe, oh, yeah, yeah. So why, why, why, you know, why do that again? Why stick with a winning formula?
Speaker 2 00:39:05 Because I think it ends, um, the vision underdog here, it just feels like a letdown spot for Pittsburgh. Um, Brown's Watson's been a little bit better. Um, their defense has played a little bit better over the last few weeks. Um, it's still Kenny Pickett, so I'm, I'm gonna take the Browns here. Maybe, maybe Pittsburgh wins by one or two.
Speaker 0 00:39:30 Okay, that's fine. Uh, bucks, Falcons bucks or, uh, bucks are a dog by four and a half. Uh, everybody said, you know, just figures that they're going to sit everybody and listen. I, yeah. You know, Tom Brady needs 390 yards to hit 5,000 for just the third time in his career. Um, Chris Godwin needs two catches, um, for what his first a hundred catch season. He also needs like 32 yards for, uh, his second consecutive thousand yard season. I mean, I don't think, with the exception of Brady needing 390 yards, I don't think there are any statistical milestones that can't be achieved for these guys inside the first quarter. So, and that's kind of where we're at here, but I, I'm, how do you take a Falcons team? As disgusting as it is, as a four and a half point favorite?
Speaker 2 00:40:26 Yeah, this game is one I wouldn't touch at all. Uh, I don't think the bucks are gonna play. They're start as much. They're locked in to the four. So I guess I would take the points, but I would bet this game.
Speaker 0 00:40:38 Yeah, I wouldn't bet it either.
Speaker 0 00:40:41 No. Uhuh Jets, dolphins, jets are a two and a half point underdog on the road. Uh, I don't know. I heard Teddy Bridgewater was seen throwing today with his, uh, dislocated pinky. Um, it's a better team. Jets are, jets are playing for Pride. They're playing to be spoilers here. <laugh>, I gotta tell you, man, I always just wanna take the Jets because I think Robert so is that guy who just wants to be such a dick and he wants to have that, wants to, he wants to have that like leg up on Mike McDaniel. They both work together for years. So I'm, I'm just gonna take Robert, so, and the Jets and my two and a half points.
Speaker 2 00:41:20 Yeah, I think I'll too, especially if Skylar Thompson is a starting quarterback.
Speaker 0 00:41:25 Oh yeah.
Speaker 3 00:41:26 <laugh>, Skylar Thompson,
Speaker 0 00:41:31 <laugh>, uh, Panthers, saints. All right. So I actually, I wrote this one up for picks wise, so I'll just say it first. Um, I I I'm taking the Panthers and the
Speaker 2 00:41:42 Points. Yes, me too.
Speaker 0 00:41:44 Okay. Um, you know, I think their, their offense has definitely been better in recent weeks. Their defense has been solid. Um, saints defense has been a lot better than it used to be, but their offense is still kind of, I think in a, in a, in a game like this, that really just doesn't mean anything. I just like being on the side of getting the points.
Speaker 2 00:42:04 Yeah, me too. I think, you know, the Panthers too, I think they are fighting for their coach. It seems like they, you know, they've turned things around and I think there's pride at play here. Donalds played well, DJ Moore. Um, yes, the Saints defense has played very well lately too. Um, but yeah, I'm gonna take the points here with the Panthers.
Speaker 0 00:42:24 Yeah, it's, uh, it's the smart move. Uh, the other game, another game I wrote up here for picks wise, uh, Houston Texans taken on the Indianapolis Cols. This is just disgusting, beyond disgusting. Like, I, I, I actually, I like the under in this game, the under 38 actually. Um, Texans need to lose this game. If they wanna hold that number one pick, they lose this game to the Cols. And that's that. I get it. It's probably Lovey Smith's last game as a Texan. His defense is gonna play well for him. Sam Ellinger is gonna be under center, but I think the Colts also wanna play for Jeff Saturday. So I feel like there's some emotion here, like, you know, uh, incentive wise for the, for the players, but not enough that there's, you know, there's just not enough talent to put some points up on the board here. And, and I think that if this one, I, I think this one comes down to a field goal and, and the Cols just win it. Uh, you know, and, and it's a low scoring game and the Houston Texans get the number one overall pick.
Speaker 2 00:43:27 Completely agree. I think the Cols win here. I mean, the Texans have been the better team, but they need to lock up that one, number one overall pick. Um, and I think the cult will want to get Saturday a win. Um, Elanor obviously is playing for his career, so I like the cult here.
Speaker 0 00:43:45 Yeah. All right. Uh, good, good, good. Giants Eagles. Eagles are favored by two touchdowns. The Giants have no reason to play any of their starters. They cannot improve their seating.
Speaker 2 00:43:56 Yes. They, oh,
Speaker 0 00:43:58 What do you mean
Speaker 2 00:43:59 Fucking help Dallas get the one seed? <laugh> <laugh>.
Speaker 0 00:44:04 Oh, hey Jim Bowden. Is that you
Speaker 2 00:44:08 <laugh>? Nah, I was say, look, the fucking Eagle screwed the Giants a couple years ago. Fucking paint them back. Pay them back.
Speaker 0 00:44:15 They're gonna do, if they're gonna do, if they're gonna pay him back, they're gonna have to do it with Matt Bria.
Speaker 2 00:44:19 Yeah, I know. Yeah. Give you the Eagles, man. Um, I think Hertz plays, um, but yeah, giants have nothing to play for it. They're locked in the six. It makes no sense. I know Barkley's like, oh, well I'm gonna go out there if I'm told otherwise. And then reports were, yeah, it looks like the jives not gonna, there's no reason to. They've had injuries this year. They made the playoffs. Sit all your guys.
Speaker 0 00:44:41 Yeah, sit 'em all, relax. Kudos to Brian Day Ball. Right. Definitely hell of a job.
Speaker 2 00:44:46 Yeah,
Speaker 0 00:44:46 Definitely. Coach the year nomination.
Speaker 2 00:44:48 I think so. You know what? I haven't checked lately. Is he the favorite? I haven't, you know, I'm gonna go. I don't even know. I haven't checked. Check now. Check. Yeah, I'm gonna look to me. I said this weeks ago when I was discussing it, I don't know if it was on this show, but to me, he was my pick. Um, and some of the candidates obviously have fallen off the map off the last few cuz McDaniel was up there. Uh, he's, he's done. Um, I guess Salala was up there for a bit. I don't think you, you know, put him there anymore. Um, I think Siri. Oh, but Sira with the two losses, cuz a lot of people, he was the favorite a few weeks ago. It is Siri still plus one 50 on DK Sports book Shanahan plus 200 Dayl plus 300. I would vote for Day Bull. I
Speaker 0 00:45:30 Yeah, definitely. Plus 300. I'm doing that. Yes.
Speaker 2 00:45:33 But then he get, remember though, this is award that's voted on Uhhuh. That's the problem. You, you got, you know, like Siri's done a great job, don't get me wrong. But D's done a better job. I mean, they have nothing. He took a quarterback, there was turnover prone with no wide receivers, no weapons. And I hate the giant, so I'm being objective here it is. D to me, I, if I had a vote, I'm voting DL and it's no disrespect to sira, he's done a great job too. But he has talent. Okay.
Speaker 0 00:46:03 Right. He's done it, he's done it with, with with Jaylen Hertz, AJ Brown, Devonta Smith. Miles. Sanders. Right.
Speaker 2 00:46:09 And I don't think anyone thought they would be this good. Um, you know, you know, basically one loss before Hurtz Scott, uh, injured. So I understand that. But the Giants were not even supposed to be close to a playoff birth and they clinched it before week 18. To me, he's the guy. And Sha Anne's done a good job as well. It's stable to me.
Speaker 0 00:46:34 Stable to me too. A hundred percent Dallas Cowboys seven point Road favorite over the Washington Command. Does what are you, are you taking Dallas with the points?
Speaker 2 00:46:47 I, it scares me a little bit. Like, here's the thing. So Dallas does have something to play for. They can still win the NFC East. They can still win a division. They play the same time as San Francisco and Philly. But if they look up at the scoreboard and see Philly's up 24 7 in the third quarter, they could start sitting guys. Yes. And my biggest concern for Dallas right now is their past defense. It's really bad. I mean, Dobbs look pretty good against them and I know what's Sam Howell making his first n f l appearance, but sometimes those guys come out and play well. Um, it is a division rival I know was, has nothing to play for. I'd probably take the Cowboys, but I'm kind of scared because again, I think they could start sitting guys in the third quarter when they look up, um, and see Philly up big. Now if Philly's not up big, then they're gonna play their guys. So it's kind of risky here. This might be a, a good live betting situation. I think that's what you have, um, this week. There's some good live betting situations. If you read everything going on, you could probably get good numbers.
Speaker 0 00:47:42 Okay. That makes sense. That makes sense. Uh, yeah, I agree with you. Yeah, I, and you know, and I've, I've, I talked about the scoreboard watching, uh, on the regular and the next game that we're gonna talk about is the Cardinals 49ers, which I wrote up for picks wise as well, uh, in the sense that, you know, if you're sitting there and you got the 49ers and you're already sitting Christian McCaffrey likely because he's got an ankle issue. Um, you know, you let Elijah Mitchell maybe Deebo Samuel knock a little bit of rust off themselves. But you know, if you go into halftime and you know, and, and you're, you know, you're, you're, you're looking at the scoreboard and the Eagles are up, you know, big at the half you're gonna sit your guys, you're just, you're going to, so I Cardinals plus 14 for me, um, you know, is is the bet that, that I'm gonna make on that one? And you know, and so I I look at the uh, at the Dallas Washington situation there, if I had to lay the bet, I would probably take the Commanders and the points even with Sam Howell just because I do think that Dallas will, you know, McCarthy is that guy who's gonna be like, you know what, fuck it man. Everybody hates me enough. The last thing I want is for somebody to get hurt playing in a game that we don't need right now.
Speaker 2 00:48:54 Yeah. And it makes sense at that point, you know. So yeah, that's the one thing to watch for this week is even though the teams are playing at the same time, they have something to play for once they look up at the scoreboard and you know, see Philly Big, both those teams, San Francisco and Dallas can start pulling starters.
Speaker 0 00:49:09 Yeah, a hundred percent. So you're with me Cardinals plus 14.
Speaker 2 00:49:13 Yeah.
Speaker 0 00:49:13 Yeah. Okay. Uh, Ram Seahawks, here you go. The Seahawks win and they're in. But can they do it by more than six Rams have been playing some inspired ball? Um, Seahawks have definitely been struggling coming through. I I, I'm, I'm rooting for Seattle. I think Seattle can win. Although I do think that I want the Rams and the points
Speaker 2 00:49:36 I do too. Remember Rams have no incentive here to Tank. They don't have a first round pick. It's a divisional game. Acres is running the ball well. Yep. Rams historically have done very well against Seattle. Eight and three in their last 11. Um, Jordan Brooks out for Seattle. That's a big loss. Tyler Lockets banged up. I just can't take Seattle by this many points. Just be this again, people mistake. Oh, it's a must win game. Gotta take this team. Doesn't always work. A lot of times those teams lose straight up.
Speaker 0 00:50:04 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey listen, you know, I mean we've seen a lot of 'em lose straight up or, or just barely by the skin of their teeth. Like that's the thing. That's why I wanna be specific saying I think the Rams, the, the Sea OGs win this game, but I think that the Rams actually cover that spread. Um, the next one here, this is, uh, this is your favorite. This is your favorite. I'm gonna let you go first because these are two teams that I, I think I would rather get kicked in the balls by somebody wearing like a steel-toed, pointy steel-toed cowboy boot or something like that than to have to either bet the Chargers or the Broncos. Here we are in Denver. The Chargers could actually lose their seating if they lost this game to Denver and the Ravens ended up winning against the, uh, the Bengals. So gotta be careful about that. They need to win the game. But <laugh>, dude, it's the Chargers.
Speaker 2 00:51:02 Yeah. What is the line now? Cause it's flipped, right?
Speaker 0 00:51:04 It's, it's Broncos minus two and a half.
Speaker 2 00:51:08 Yeah. I don't think you could bet this game until you see what happens with the Ravens.
Speaker 0 00:51:15 Yes. Correct.
Speaker 2 00:51:19 Correct. Which is probably why they moved this line once they Yeah. Cause I think the line moved once they announced the time of the game for the Bengals Ravens, right? Yeah. That's when it moved. Because they didn't announce the time until, until uh, Wednesday. The Bengals Ravens was not officially a 1:00 PM Eastern until Wednesday.
Speaker 0 00:51:36 Right, right. Yep. Are you taking the Broncos? Well, you just, yeah. Yeah. Just, yeah, I mean, no, no, no, no. You know what? You just said it, you just said it in like a, like a schmuck. I was like glue. You could dick the Bronco. No, you just said you can't bet this game until you know what's going on with the Ravens. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. You just can't do it because the last thing you ought do if the ravens win, then the charges have the incentive, and I can go out, you know, I can, I can look
Speaker 2 00:52:00 Or, well, then again, if you think the ba and we both think the bagels are gonna win, then maybe you just take the charges, getting the points.
Speaker 0 00:52:07 What is, yeah, you could bet that. Now what, what, let me ask you a question. Ravens win. What do you think this line moves to?
Speaker 2 00:52:15 Charges become favorite again, right?
Speaker 0 00:52:17 Yeah. I mean, are you looking at like, uh, like how much of a like, like a full five point swing? Nah, or more than that even
Speaker 2 00:52:24 Probably four.
Speaker 0 00:52:27 So they're a point and a half favorite then? Yeah. That's crazy. Uh, see, see you Ronis. That's why I love you so much. Got that eye for that shit. Detroit Green Bay Packers are favored by four and a half. Here's another one. Can't bet this game until we know it happens with Seattle.
Speaker 2 00:52:48 This line's gonna move though too, because if Seattle wins, I think this moves to six or seven, don't you?
Speaker 0 00:52:55 Yes, I do.
Speaker 2 00:52:57 Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. And if that's the case, I'd probably take Detroit man,
Speaker 0 00:53:02 <laugh> Detroit six, or with plus six or seven. Yes.
Speaker 2 00:53:06 Yeah, it's hard to see the Packers losing this game, though. I mean, he's had so much success against Detroit at home. I have the numbers in the Survivor article on fantasy alarm.com. Uh, but I am definitely rooting for Detroit
Speaker 0 00:53:25 Again. I think we're all rooting for Detroit. I'm gonna start a a, a GoFundMe page to pay for more Pokemon for Jamal Williams.
Speaker 2 00:53:33 We, he's awesome.
Speaker 0 00:53:34 Love them so much. I, you know, I got into that with Boden today. He was like, making fun of him. He was like, really Pokemon, not like Madden or Call of Duty. I'm like, yeah, that's what I wanna do, Jim. I wanna unwind from my football career by playing more football on, on the, uh, on, on the computer.
Speaker 2 00:53:51 <laugh>.
Speaker 0 00:53:57 Unbelievable man. Unbelievable. I still, I, I guess I have to stop calling him Jamel. People are gonna get upset with
Speaker 2 00:54:06 Me. Yeah, they will, man. He's a, he is a good dude. His, his interviews are always, uh, fun. He's a fun guy, man. He has fun. And this is also a revenge game for him too.
Speaker 0 00:54:16 Oh, it is. But yeah, it was the last time they played too. And he,
Speaker 2 00:54:21 Yeah, it was, I did, I believe, if I'm not mistaken, I gotta double check this, I think he can set the single season record for Russian touchdowns in Detroit history. I think Barry Sanders had 14. Was it? Isn't that what Jamal has now? Let me double check before
Speaker 0 00:54:36 I, Jamal has 15 right
Speaker 2 00:54:37 Now. 15. Okay. So Barry Sanders had 16 in 91, so he can tie or break it.
Speaker 0 00:54:44 Okay. All right. That makes sense, man. That makes sense
Speaker 2 00:54:48 For this. I don't want, dude, come on man. Barry Sanders deserves to be in that record book, not Jamal Williams.
Speaker 0 00:54:54 Yeah. But, well, yeah. See, that's the thing. I I, you know, I agree with you. I'd love to see Barry's name stay in the record book, uh, Jamal to take some of the sting off needs just six more rushing yards to earn an additional $250,000 in his
Speaker 2 00:55:10 Contract. Okay. Yeah. He'll get that. Wow. He's gonna have a thousand yards averaging, like two yards of carry.
Speaker 0 00:55:15 It's crazy, right?
Speaker 2 00:55:16 Yeah. He is averaging four 15 touchdowns. Yeah. You know, they're gonna try and get him to score a touchdown or two.
Speaker 0 00:55:23 Yeah, I, dude, I I, I posted on fantasy alarm today, all the contract incentives, statistical milestones that people are looking for, all that, all that nonsense.
Speaker 2 00:55:33 Yeah, it's good to look at when you're looking at props for this week.
Speaker 0 00:55:37 Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. Some very interesting ones. Some very, very interesting ones. Uh, you guys out there, you can just go to fantasy alarm.com and check that out. Um, it's, it's free and it's actually, it's kind of a nice little helpful tool. Uh, if you're, if you're thinking about playing, uh, some DFS this weekend, uh, and seeing what some of these, uh, you know, some of these guys have, there's a, there's a lot of like cool things in there that, um, you know, kind of could tilt you towards using a, a certain player. I'll tell you, Jacksonville receivers Christian Kirk and Zay Jones, Adam, these guys could be rich after this game. Like, I mean, you know, Christian Kirk can earn half a million dollars with just two more catches and then another half mill with 91 receiving yards. Zay Jones can earn a quarter of a million dollars with two more catches and another half a million with 98 receiving yards this week against Tennessee.
Speaker 2 00:56:34 Yeah, it's great matchup. Lawrence had, I think 360 8 last time. You gotta beat Tennessee through the air. I do think those guys probably care a little bit more about winning the game and getting into the playoffs, but I'm sure in the back of their mind, they're like, Hey, uh, let's, let's get these numbers here,
Speaker 0 00:56:48 Dude. If there're, if they're up multiple scores in the third quarter, I think Trevor Lawrence starts taking some shots.
Speaker 2 00:56:55 Could be.
Speaker 0 00:56:56 I I, I think, I think he, he hones in on these two guys. He's not gonna do anything to fuck up the game plan and they'll probably still run as much as they can to kind of chew up the clock. But in situations where he is gonna throw, I think he's gonna look for those two to just kind of help out. Right? I mean, how nice is that?
Speaker 2 00:57:15 Of course,
Speaker 0 00:57:16 Right? It's like, Hey man, and I'll tell, you know, and, and, and you know, <laugh>, Jim said it today. He was like, you know that Z Jones is walking up to Trevor just being like, you know, Hey dude, I get like 18 more yards and uh, buy your Rolex. Ooh <laugh>, you're not amused. Okay, fine. No,
Speaker 2 00:57:36 I mean, yeah, I would do the same thing.
Speaker 0 00:57:38 I would too, actually. I would too.
Speaker 0 00:57:42 Um, alright, well that's it, man. Those are the games. That's week 18 and away we go. As always, thank you to everybody for liking and subscribing. Adam and I will have all of our usual stuff, uh, all over the place
[email protected]. I've got three games written up there for football. Adam's got his N B A props article that comes out on Fridays. Um, enjoy the week 18 games. And Adam and I are gonna be, uh, crushing it for some playoff football as well. So, for Adam Ronis, I'm Howard Bender. This has been the Cash It Podcast. We'll catch you next time.
